Your Treasure Cannot Stay Hidden

What we treasure in our hearts will eventually be revealed by our words, attitudes, choices, and actions. The mouth does not create the condition of the heart; it reveals it.

Jesus teaches that the heart is connected to our treasure. Whatever we value most will receive our attention, affection, time, and loyalty.

In Matthew 12:33–37, Jesus applies this truth to the words of the Pharisees. They spoke religious words, but their speech revealed unbelief, pride, envy, and hardness toward God. Earlier in the same chapter they called Jesus Beelzebub = "lord of the house" a name of Satan, the prince of evil spirits.

A person’s true treasure may be hidden from people for a time, but it cannot remain hidden forever.

“For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” — Matthew 12:34, KJV

What we are filling our hearts with will be revealed. 

The Heart = Is the trueness of the person. It is the thoughts, will, character, passions and emotions of the person. It is where a person contemplates and decides. It is the location of one’s connection with God.
