The Mission
“As a family of believers, we strive to reach the world for Christ by evangelizing the lost, by discipling other believers, by building all we do upon the gospel of Jesus Christ, and by living in a way that honors God, demonstrates His love, and that gives Him all the glory.”
The Vision
The vision of the church of God is to create a family of authentic believers and to witness lives changed by the transforming power of the gospel. We have a passion to reach souls for Christ, glorify God, and build upon the foundation of the gospel.
The church has expanded its outreach into various areas, such as Prayer Teams (praying 5 days a week for specific topics and peoples), hosting marriage events (Marriage Breakfasts and Marriage Retreats), Sisters’ Ministries, Young Adults Ministries (Singing/Teaching), choir programs, and church conferences to encourage other likeminded congregations.
The church of God in Mount Vernon, Ohio, has continued to support and help other churches through the years. The congregation has assisted in expanding churches in foreign fields and is working to start new churches in various places.
